A fridge isn’t just a heavy box. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers contain refrigerants that have to be recovered by a certified technician before the unit is scrapped — it’s a legal requirement, not a courtesy. Appliances also contain recoverable steel, copper and aluminium, which is why they belong in a recycling stream rather than a landfill.
We route appliances accordingly. You don’t have to arrange any of that, but it’s worth knowing that it’s happening, because a cheap hauler who tips everything in one hole is saving money somewhere.
Most Toronto laundry lives in a basement, and most basements have a tight turn at the bottom of the stairs. We bring appliance dollies and straps and protect the walls and floor on the way out. If the unit is plumbed or hard-wired, disconnect it first if you can — if you can’t, tell us when you book so we can plan for it.

It helps a lot. Water and gas lines should be shut off and disconnected safely before we get there. Let us know when you book if that's not possible.
